Core worked together with a well known, $8 Billion Consumer Products company to develop a custom JD Edwards application to perform PO Order Consolidation. For those that know Sales Order Basket Repricing, this would be Basket Reprice, but for the procurement side of the business.
The savings are enormous.
The savings are captured in a Savings Log, much like the receipts you get from the grocery store. The difference is, instead of saying "You saved $5.00" we're likely to see "You saved $5000.00". Not bad. Extend those savings over hundreds of orders and you can see the benefits many times over. The ROI was easy to track using the savings log. It took just 3 weeks to recover the project investment.
The project was one of just 3 projects recognized as Award winners within the organization. This was out of 350 projects that were eligible.

Point of Sale
Pretty amazing how easy (and affordable) it is to get Point of Sale up and running. xTuple has created a great system that is every bit as intuitive as their other great products. The xTuple Point of Sales (xTPOS) system is an extension package that adds Point of Sale / Cash Register capabilities to xTuple ERP. It can be run on any edition of xTuple ERP (including the free PostBooks Edition).

Our own Scott Zuke has won the Bug Derby.
xTuple has a very creative way of squashing bugs in a fast manner. They have held a couple of Bug Derbies so far. The derby was a great success, due in part to the efforts of Scott.

The Time and Expense Application is nearly complete. We're actively doing some last minute testing and will roll things out soon. Version 2 planning is already under way.
Our developmentment of this application is representative of our commitment to xTuple and open-source software. We're very excited about the great functionality and project tracking capabilities that the Time and Expense Application will provide.
